Job Title: Taekwondo Instructor
Classification: Full-Time
Salary: $30k – $40k Starting Base Pay, $40k – $60k Year 6 onwards
Benefits: Medical, Dental and Vacation Pay

POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the President and Owner, the taekwondo instructor is responsible for the quality and standard of instruction at the school. This individual will be an expert in understanding our curriculum and ensuring that students are progressing through it with high standards. The head instructor will also be responsible for our extreme martial arts program development and instruction. Demonstrations, competitions, and events are also the job of the instructor to coordinate and prepare students for.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Qualifications/Skills/Abilities

  • Minimum 1st Degree Black Belt in Taekwondo or Karate
  • Experience in extreme martial arts and weapons a huge asset
  • Experience in sparring or xma competition a huge asset
  • Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university, preferred
  • Experience working with parents and volunteers; experience in building community relationships using diplomacy and tact
  • Strong written and verbal interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong critical and strategic thinking skills; ability to work independently
  • Marketing and retail experience an asset
  • Exceptional organizational, planning and time management skills
  • Experience supervising multiple team members; a team-player and team-builder
  • Flexible schedule and willingness to travel locally, including the ability to work evenings and weekends when necessary;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word)
  • Must have reliable automobile for use on the job (mileage to be reimbursed). Valid Ontario driver license.

Job Title: Afterschool Program Director & Office Manager
Classification: Full-Time
Salary: $30k – $40k Starting Base Pay Plus Performance Bonus Up To $30k/year
Benefits: Medical, Dental and Vacation Pay

POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the President and Owner, the afterschool director and office manager is responsible for all children and youth programming for the afterschool program and the administrative duties of the school. Responsibilities include operating the afterschool vehicles and keeping them maintained and clean. To build and grow the afterschool program to the same professionalism and quality as private Montessori programs via strategic marketing and constant improvement in the program. All administrative duties for the afterschool program and  taekwondo school programs will be required such as sign ups, lead generation, membership retention, communications, renewals, and accounts receivables.

POSITION ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Afterschool Programs:

  • Oversee day to day operations on site for students, ensuring safety of all children, volunteers, and staff
  • Provide safe transportation for students at schools to our afterschool program driving our afterschool vehicles
  • Provide oversight and direction for afterschool tutoring/homework assistance program
  • Oversee behavior management of students, assisting any staff, interns, and volunteers to maintain appropriate classroom behavior
  • Build and expand the afterschool program with strategic marketing campaigns

Office Management:

  • Responsible for all office duties and communications with students and parents. Student sign ups, renewals, trial lesson bookings, and student retention.
  • Manage accounts receivables and updating credit card expirys
  • Organizing school events and promotions
  • Keeping inventory in check and the school maintained and in top shape
  • Managing and directing staff to assist with duties that are required to help grow the school

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • 3-5 years of progressively increased responsibilities/experience in education or youth-focused programming
  • Experience working with parents and volunteers; experience in building community relationships using diplomacy and tact
  • Strong written and verbal interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to gather understand and synthesize information from a variety of sources
  • Strong critical and strategic thinking skills; ability to work independently
  • Marketing and retail experience an asset
  • Exceptional organizational, planning and time management skills
  • Experience supervising multiple team members; a team-player and team-builder
  • Flexible schedule and willingness to travel locally, including the ability to work evenings and weekends when necessary;

Job Title: Afterschool Driver/Supervisor
Classification: Part-Time
Salary: $800/month

POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the afterschool director, the afterschool driver will transport students from schools to our martial arts studio and then supervise them until 6pm. Help students with homework and to ensure the rules of the school and behavior of the children are in check.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Qualifications/Skills/Abilities

  • Perfect driving record and a safe and responsible driver
  • Comfortable driving a minivan or 15 passenger extended vans
  • Responsible and enforces safety with transported children
  • Experience working with parents and children
  • Strong written and verbal interpersonal and communication skills
  • Exceptional organizational, planning and time management skills
  • Must have reliable automobile for use on the job (mileage to be reimbursed). Valid Ontario driver license.
