Master Babak Vatani started Taekwondo in 2005 in Iran under Kukkiwon Certified 9th Degree Black Belt Grand Master Behnam Abrar. Started teaching in the same club in 2007 after earning his first-degree black belt, and continued until 2012 when he immigrated to Winnipeg, Canada.
Master Babak Joined YWinnipeg Club in Winnipeg, Manitoba under Master Scott Toderash in 2012 and taught taekwondo classes as a volunteer at YMCA downtown and East Kildonan branch for two years. In 2015 he got hired as the head instructor in the same club at East Kildonan Branch and had a great positive impact on students there.
Master Babak attended the provincial poomsae seminars with Canadian National Poomsae coach, Grand Master Bhajan Mann in 2015 and 2016 and has built up a good relationship with him. Master Babak and Grandmaster Bhajan Mann continue to stay in touch and keep updated on changes in taekwondo on the competitive level.
Master Babak has earned P3, P2, and P1 provincial referee degrees in 2014, 2015, and 2017 under Grand Master Robert Quone. Contributed actively in all provincial tournaments in Manitoba from 2014 till 2018 and created an outstanding performance record. Master Babak earned his fifth-degree black belt from Iran Taekwondo Federation in 2018 and moved to Ontario in 2019.
Master Babak Vatani has worked for different taekwondo schools in Ontario and joined Pulse Martial Arts Academy in 2020 and is excited to share his expertise with the organization and develop a long term relationship with the team and students!
